Sabrina Smith Obituary

Sabrina L-Tanya Smith, affectionately known to family and friends as “Beanie,” was born on July 30, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio’s General Hospital to Mattie Ann and Alonzo Lonnie Smith.  She departed this life on February 23, 2024 into the arms of The Lord.

Sabrina grew up in the West End community of Cincinnati.  She was the second oldest of the Smith children. She attended Porter Junior High  and Taft High School.  She graduated from Hughes High School in 1973 with her baby girl, Folecia, on her hip.  She was hired by White Castle Restaurant, where she worked as a manager at the Downtown location from 1973 until 1979. She then went on to obtain a career at Hussman Potato Chip factory, where she worked for 30 faithful years as a packer until the factory closed.  She also drove a fan for RideRight for a few years after leaving Husman.

She was always supportive in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Sabrina loved spending time with family. She was always laughing with her very distinctive laugh and loved to talk on the phone and any caller “better” have the time to listen.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and earned a reputation for baking great pound cakes. Everyone loved her cooking. She also loved to sew and make clothes, a skill the learned in home economics.  Everyone who knew  Sabrina knew how she loved to shop and fiercely loved her cat Luna.  She was also an “immaculate” and neat housekeeper. She was a beautiful, sweet soul with a big laugh and a smile that will always remembered.

Sabrina was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Ann Anderson and her father, Alonzo Lonnie Smith; her sister, Gloria Smith and brother, Greg Smith.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Folecia Smith and Lamar (NaKisha) Smith; grandchildren, Shardinae Smith, Paris Smith, TreMale Dorsey, Khamaria Smith; great-great grandchildren, London, Kase, Natalia, Kaidence, and Chase! Her loving spirit will also be dearly missed by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of  friends.
